HUNTING FAQ
Q: Do I need to have a license?
A: Live Oak Plantation is a Georgia hunting preserve. Hunters are required to possess a Hunting Preserve License while hunting. Licenses are available in our office, or you can purchase from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources at gooutdoorsgeorgia.com.

Q: Are shotgun shells available for purchase?
A: Yes, our pro shop sells shotgun shells in all gauges.

Q: Do you have shotguns available for guest use?
A: We have a small selection of quality shotguns for guest use. We can also arrange for a broader selection with advanced notice (in cooperation with Adel Outfitters).

Q: How many guns to a wagon?
A: A minimum of two and a maximum of four.

Q: How long to we stay out?
A: Our guides will work to provide the hunting experience you desire. Generally, morning hunts begin at 9:00 and end around 12:00. Afternoon hunts start around 1:30 and end around 4:30. End times can vary depending on how the hunt unfolds.

Q: Is there an overage fee?
A: No.

Q: Can we shoot the trap range prior to hunting?
A: Yes, you will have an opportunity to “knock of a little rust” prior to your hunt.

Q: Can children hunt?
A: Guests under the age of 14 are not allowed to participate in hunting activities. Hunters 16 yrs of age and under will need to show proof of a hunter’s safety course or attend an on-site gun safety presentation.

Q: Can someone ride with me and not hunt?
A: Yes. However, unregistered guests are generally not permitted to hunt, so we would ask that any “observers” be registered as guests of the lodge, sign a waiver, and pay the appropriate “Non-hunter Fee”.

Q: Are guests permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages?
A: Alcohol, Beer, and Wine may be included in certain packages. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol but Live Oak Plantation will not tolerate consumption/providing of alcohol by/to persons under 21 years of age.
